Abstract: Depletion of non-renewable resources used for energy production has contributed to seek new opportunities to generate them. One is the use of biomass for energy purposes. In this paper the authors present possibilities and limitations of biomass production in Poland and pointed to the possible risks associated with unsustainable cultivation of these plants.
