Title: Application of the HBV-light model for discharge simulation of lowland river

Abstract: In this paper results of the calibration and verification of the HBV-light model are presented on the example of the lowland Liwiec river. According to the optimization procedure of fourteen model parameters by use of the genetic algorithm, the parameter sets were determined with which the best model efficiency was obtained. Novelty lies in the application of the MODIS evapotranspiration data in the verification of the model. Results indicates that the HBV-light model might be applied in discharge simulation of mesoscale lowland catchment.
