Title: The analysis of the impact of temperature when it comes to the rate of ignition loss of selected kind of peat

Authors: STRAŻ, G.

Keywords: peat, organic matter content, rate ignition loss

Abstract: In this paper the impact of temperature on the rate of ignition loss of high-organic soils – peats was conducted, in accordance with to Polish standard PN-B-0448:1988. In total, 756 samples were tested in 63 testing series, that were of a roasting test in one or two stages for the temperature range from 550 to 850°C and for different time periods from 3 to 9 h. The results were analyzed statistically and revealed that the main parameter to decide about the outcome of a roasting test is the temperature.
