Title: Economic functions and the natural significance of the Supraśl river and its valley

Abstract: River valleys along with occurring rivers and watercourses fulfill a variety of functions in the landscape and natural environment. Located north of Knyszyńska Forest, a vast valley of Supraśl river, due to its location has significance role in nature, as habitat for many flora species. It closes proximity to Białystok agglomeration is also its recreational values resorts. The environmental valorization demonstrated appearing of the process synanthropization in plant communities in the valley and reducing natural advantages of this ecosystem. Supraśl current flows and groundwater of this valley are the main source of water supply for Białystok agglomeration. For this reason, agricultural land usage and environment protection in this valley should be balanced.
