Title: Analysis of water consumption and variability of demands in the campus of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW)

Abstract: The article presents a study on the size and variability of water consumption on the WULS campus in the academic year 2012/2013. The average specifi c water consumption at a time when classes are implemented amounted to 29.3 dm3 /student per day for full-time studies student and 23.2 dm3 /student per day for the student parttime studies. During the holiday season the rates are lower at respectively 15.2 and 11.4 dm3 /student per day. These ratios were determined without taking into account water consumption in the dorms The daily peaking factor for the whole campus amounted 1.54 and was similar to the hourly peaking factor, amounting 1.52. The highest water consumption per month occurred in June and was 85% higher than the lowest which occurred in August. Within the week cycle, the highest water consumption was observed in Tuesdays and the lowest – in Sundays. The average Tuesday demands are 31.5% higher than the Sunday demands. The demand peaks in day felt on the hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. as well as 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.
