Title: The use of resonant column to determine the response of dynamically loaded fine grained soils

Abstract: The article concerns the resonant column used in the present study. The device was developed by the GDS Instruments Ltd. as a “fixed-free” type. Article historical development of the device, its types, examples of the use and the dynamic soil parameters. Standards used to dynamic tests were also presented. The methodology of tests was discussed with particular attention to damping coefficient – D. Article presents results of studies and analysis of obtained data with conclusion.
