Abstract: Revitalization of urban areas can bring significant areas of brownfield sites that have been out of use for redevelopment. These activities are made possible by the created revitalization programs, which defines the area and scope of work for specific regions, together with an indication of their future development in accordance with the needs of the community and urban development plans. The paper presents examples of revitalization activities carried out on the brownfields of capital city Warsaw located on the Powiśle and covering treatments, which may result in the creation of urban public spaces, using the landscape areas adjacent to the river.
