Title: Continuity of spatial management of a commune in terms of building up its ecological network on the example of the Góra Kalwaria Commune

Abstract: The objective of the paper was to present the issue of ecological network in spatial policy of a commune, especially in terms of continuity and consistency in determining the extent and location of particular elements of the network. The pressure of urbanization, different kinds of spatial barriers make it difficult to maintain ecological connectivity, but keeping the rule of “continuum” in the setting of the network certainly increases the chances of its implementation. This problem is illustrated on the example of Góra Kalwaria Commune, located within the natural connections of national and regional importance (where there are designated two Natura 2000 sites), while being under strong economical and social influence of the Warsaw agglomeration.
