Title: Key words of ecological engineering as a base for assessment of on-site wastewater treatment technologies

Authors: KARCZMARCZYK, A.

Abstract: Minimization of energy and resources use, waste generation and damage to environment is essential in case of sustainable technologies. Such technologies not only solve environmental problems but also minimize pression on environment. The assessment of most popular on-site wastewater treatment technologies was performed based on keywords of ecological engineering (energy, resource, waste, damage). The best systems are constructed wetland with vertical subsurface flow (VF) and vertical sand filter (FP). The result was strongly influenced by energy use in treatment plant.
