Abstract: Subject of the paper is stability analysis of the main dam of Nielisz reservoir. The paper presents stability analysis based on the finite element method. The paper shows the problem of the parameters selection for stability factor calculations. Stability analysis for Nielisz dam were done by Plaxis (Netherlands) numerical program. The values of stability factor calculated by finite element method are greater than 1.5 except removing benches and overload embankment and overbuild an embankment crown to 199.0 meters above sea level phase and also the first uncontrolled lifting of water phase. The water dam has suitable stability.
