Title: Biotechnical properties of Typha latifolia and its use in environmental engineering

Abstract: The results of researches on mechanical properties of Typha latifolia are presented in this paper. A methodology of the researches is described. Tensile strength of different parts of the plant – rhizomes, shoots and leaves, is determined. They are compared to data relating to some species of trees, bushes and herbaceous plants.
